British Railways built 1000 4-wheeled pig iron wagons, used to transport heavy ingots of crude iron from the smelting furnaces to steelworks for further refining. These ingots were often referred to as āpigsā, hence the curious name given to the wagons. Some were later converted into Coil C wagons.
These newly tooled models feature excellent moulding detail, fine printing, free-running metal wheels and detachable couplers.
