Adams Radial Steam Locomotive 3520

The Adams Radial was designed in 1882 by William Adams, these locomotives were based on the popular 4-4-0 tank engine design but due to the enlarged coal bunker a trailing axle was added for support. 71 of these locomotives were produced between 1882 and 1885 and most of them lasted until their withdrawral which started in 1916. Only one of these locomotives survived into preservation which is number 488 and lives happily on display at the Bluebell Railway.
